2025 Elections
Over the next two weeks, Austin voters will decide on Proposition Q, a measure that helps fully fund the City’s 2025 - 2026 budget. At Safe Streets Austin, we see this as a chance to protect progress toward a city where everyone can get around safely.
The budget supported by Proposition Q continues important work: filling sidewalk gaps near schools and transit, improving trail maintenance, calming dangerous streets, and keeping Vision Zero programs going strong. In addition we support funding park upkeep, sustainability efforts, and neighborhood spaces that make Austin a better place to live.
If the measure does not pass, many of these priorities could lose funding, slowing the work that keeps our streets and communities safe.
We encourage everyone to learn more about the election and how local decisions like Proposition Q shape Austin’s future. Voting is one of the most direct ways we can invest in a city that works for all of us. Click HERE to view a more detailed letter of support.
