Life After Cars live panel energizes the community

A huge thanks to everyone who attended the Life After Cars book launch panel on December 4th at Brushy Street Commons with Live After Cars authors and War on Cars podcast hosts Doug Gordon and Sarah Goodyear. Joining Doug and Sarah were fellow panelists Mayor Pro Tem Vanessa Fuentes, Black History Bike Ride founder Talib Abdullahi, and moderator and KUT transportation journalist Nathan Bernier.

Despite massive progress in the last ten years, transitioning to a more walkable, bikeable, transit-friendly transportation system remains a massive undertaking for historically-car-centric Austin and the rest of Texas. But Doug and Sarah inspired the audience to reject status quo thinking and boldly push for change. The audience certainly got the message with a packed house responding with enthusiasm.
