The City of Austin is making big decisions about the future of walking and bicycling in Austin

The City is considering transformative options - including bigger e-bike subsidies, a citywide Shared Streets program, and a “Guaranteed Basic Mobility” program for low-income residents - to make walking, bicycling, and rolling better in Austin.

See what they’re thinking and share your feedback NOW.

Suggestions for question 26 (the open-ended question)

  • For the Shared Streets program (see video), use visually-pleasing materials, place-making and signage, and adopt goals for lowering traffic speeds

  • Convert at least one lane on all 4 and 6-lane roads to protected bike lanes

  • Create more bike/pedestrian wayfinding

  • Consider using materials other than plastic posts for bike lanes
